Information for Singers

The choir meets every Tuesday in term time at Invicta Grammar School, Huntsman Lane, Maidstone from 7.30 to 9.30

If you are interested in joining come along to a rehearsal to see whether you enjoy it. Contact the membership secretary (see Contacts).

Usually we have four concerts per year at the Mote Hall, in Maidstone and one extra concert on Twelfth Night the 6th of January in a local church.

The choir is sometimes invited to sing at other events such as the Maidstone Festival, weddings, funerals etc.

Annual Subscriptions cost £80 (students benefit from a discount).

Concert Dress is:

Women - long black skirts and peacock blue blouses, which you buy through the society.

Men – Black dinner jackets and a peacock blue bow tie, which you buy through the society.

As well as singing in rehearsals and concerts the Maidstone Choral Union runs a number of social activities. These include :-

Opera/Concert or Theatre trips to London twice a month,

An annual tour abroad - in the last few years we have been to Naples, Cordoba and Granada, Lisbon and Barcelona, Budapest and Athens.

Fundraising activities such as quizzes, silent auctions etc.
